skincare project

Concept

Chlorella pyrenoidosa is a freshwater algae that are easily ethically and sustainably sourced. This ingredient has a wide range of health benefits specifically to the skin, leaving room for the line to expand.

Sustainable, vegan, 100% compostable skincare. Algae is already a huge industry within the superfood and supplement market. However, virtually untapped within the skincare market. The research showed only one other skincare company using chlorella pyrenoidosa.

Secondary Key Concept: Packaging

Since the line is geared towards health and environmentally-conscious consumers, the product containers themselves are 100% wheat straw plastic. Wheat straw plastic is odourless, gluten-free, non-allergenic, renewable, biodegradable, naturally antibacterial,100% premium food grade material and is completely BPA free.

Why

Skincare is a multibillion-dollar industry. Sustainable and environmentally conscious products are presently a key selling point for every market.

Art Direction

What exists in the market is focussed mostly on quality products for people who are already health food store clients. CHLO is designed for people who already value and invest in the higher-end brand’s extensive routines and want to be part of the conscious commerce\ green movement. CHLO is bridging the gap between honest, good quality health food store products and future-driven design aesthetics. The packaging is modern, and matte, with well-considered use of bold color that says fresh. A touch of earth tones and subtle contrasts in copy color is used to keep it grounded, understated, and confident.

Along with the name CHLO, the connection is easily made to chlorella, but the abbreviation feels modern yet familiar like the nickname of a close friend, yet powerful like a mononymous celebrity.

Brand Mark

In its natural water habitat seaweed is always in movement, there is a delicate beauty to it. The brand mark captures a little snapshot of this movement, housing it in a circle is a nod toward full-circle health. Chlorella is good for you inside and out.

wellness center project

Concept

Ujji is a wellness center that offers unique health benefits from the unity of combining Ayurvedic medicine and Yoga Therapy. After the initial in person session, the treatment includes a custom app. This gives access to all of the prescribed treatments, prescriptions, and progress reports. The app provides multiple options for support, follow-up appointments, questions, and community depending on your schedule that day, week, or month. Book private remote yoga sessions to target a specific problem area, access previous sessions, and or join live group sessions at the studio. The app is also a place to meet like-minded people or perhaps receive support from others who are healing from the same health problems.

Why

The Physical Activity sector particularly the segment’s hybrid bricks-and-mortar/digital market will nearly double from $738 billion to $1.2 trillion from 2020-2025.

Art Direction

The brand is inclusive and affordable, despite the designer look and feel of the clinic and studio spaces. The color palette is kept neutral to be relaxing, with the contrast of lavender to emphasize the friendly nature of the brand. Brand applications are clean, with round shapes to feel more inviting and less clinical.

Name | Brand Mark

The origin of Ujji comes from, ujjayi: “ooh-jai-eee”. It is a pranayamic breathing technique employed in a variety of Yoga practices. Its traditional Sanskrit name, Ujjayi Pranayama, roughly translates to upward victorious breath, likely because of the way your body expands upward during practice. Ujji by itself, because of its root origin translates as “to be victorious”. The brand mark is a nod towards someone expanding with their arms up either “victoriously” or in yoga practice.
